Emirates news agency – UAEU Chancellor meets with latest member of International Association of Positive Psychology

AL AIN, Aug 3, 2021 (WAM) – Zaki Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates and Chancellor of the University of the United Arab Emirates (UAEU), met Noof M. Aljneibi to celebrate the award of his scholarship to the “International Association of Positive Psychology”.

The International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) is a professional organization founded in 2007 to promote the science of positive psychology and to encourage, facilitate and disseminate the results of research in the field. It aims to promote the science of positive psychology and its research-based applications and to share the findings of positive psychology with the widest possible audience.

Aljenbi is a graduate of the College of Information Technology at UAEU and holds an MA in Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. She is currently the Director of the UAEU-based United Arab Emirates Research Center for Happiness Research (ECHR), which is the region’s premier research center dedicated to the topic of well-being and advancing based practices. on evidence in the field.

IPPA scholarships are awarded to members of the association who have made the most significant contributions to the scientific or practical advancement of the field of positive psychology in their area of ​​specialization and to the development of the International Association of Positive Psychology.

Nusseibeh praised Aljenbi, noting that her work as director of the ECHR had been effective in establishing the field as “an area of ​​professional practice which had shown its importance during the COVID-19 pandemic”.

“It was essential that there be an evidence-based source of practice and professional activity in the area of ​​happiness and well-being when these two essential facets of the human experience were put to the test. such a degree due to the coronavirus. We are celebrating the milestone. work of the ECHR led by Aljenbi, and support and anticipate its future achievements and successes ”, he added.

The meeting was also attended by Prof. Mohammed Hasan Ali, Acting Rector of UAEU.
