Month-long psychological assessment training program at MCSE begins

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): A month-long online training program on “psychological assessment” organized by the Manovikas College of Special Education (MCSE) was launched on Monday. Vice Chancellor of Vikram University, Prof. Akhilesh Kumar Pandey was the chief guest while veteran educator Diwakar Natu was the special guest. They inaugurated the program by lighting the traditional lamp in the middle of the chanting of prayers. The prayer was presented in sign language by MCSE DEd trainees.

Professor Pandey in his talk talked about the importance of psychology and its assessment. He spoke of the four pillars of education from which learning to do and learning to know became the backbone of education. However, learning to be and learning to be together have lost something. He said. “There is therefore a great need for counseling and psychological assessment for students, parents as well as management to know and understand each other and know what we are,” he added. He also promised to bring education classes very soon.

Father Tom George, director of the MCSE, in his presidential address, wished the month-long program a success. He said that the psychological evaluation was a very important parameter for knowing the attitude and developing the personality. He also asked the Vice Chancellor to introduce educational and psychological courses at Vikram University.

Guests were introduced and welcomed by Dr Prem Chhabra, Academic Director, MCSE. Father Jijo George, Director of MPVSS and Father Jose, Finance Director of MPVSS were also present on the occasion. An outline of the program was presented by resource person Jyoti Kamble, clinical psychologist and assistant professor, MCSE. The program was led by Govind Chhaparwal, Assistant Professor and Head of Sports while Yogita Sharma, Assistant Professor, offered the vote of thanks.
