Russia to use AI to assess social media personality – Business & Economy
MOSCOW, November 29. / TASS /. The Ivannikov Institute for System Programming of the Russian Academy of Sciences has issued a tender for 36 million rubles ($ 480,000) to study the use of artificial intelligence for the psychological assessment of people’s personalities based on social media data, according to a document posted on the government’s procurement website on Nov. 23, Kommersant writes.
“The development of technologies based on the use of digital fingerprints to assess a person’s character and condition has become more and more common these days. It is crucial to use the principles of artificial intelligence trustworthy to develop and use such technologies, âthe document said. âSocial media is one of the sources of this type of data because it accumulates a large amount of information about users’ interests and hobbies, as well as posts reflecting their behavioral activity. The use of digital fingerprints offers great opportunities to assess people’s personalities and predict their behavior without performing psychological tests which usually require the voluntary consent of those tested, âthe document explains.
The results of the call for tenders will be announced on November 29. The main customer is the Russian government’s analysis center. The work is expected to be completed in September 2024.
