Six academic winners from all districts nominated by college sports broadcasters

TUCSON- Six members of the Arizona football team have been named College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-District Academic Winners, the organization announced Tuesday. Quincy Bonds, Gianna Christiansen, Nicole Dallin, Jordan Room, I hope Hisey and Iliana Hocking won the honor.

To be named to the All District Team, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and must have competed in at least 50% of their team’s competitions during the year. They must additionally have completed at least one full calendar year at their current institution.

Bonds holds a 3.87 GPA in broadcast journalism. She made appearances in 15 games throughout the season. She finished the 2022 season with five shots. Bonds played in 17 of Arizona’s 18 games as a sophomore and appeared in all 15 competitions as a rookie. She made nine starts in her first season.

Christiansen is in pre-business and currently has a GPA of 3.57. The Laguna Hills, Calif. native started 13 of 15 games she appeared in and scored her first career goal against Utah. She also recorded an assist on the game-winning goal against then-No. 8 USC to bring her season-high points to three.

Dallin, a political science major, maintains a GPA of 3.606. She led the Wildcats in goals in 2022 with five to score 10 points this season. Dallin scored twice to help the Wildcats pass Oregon State and took 38 shots on the season. In total, she has scored three match winners in 2022.

Hall holds a 3.67 GPA in psychology. The Dacula, Georgia native made 10 starts in 15 games and was second on the team in goals in 2022 with four. She had 10 points this season with a pair of assists against Oregon State. Twelve of his 22 shots in shots were on goal.

Hisey, a 2022 All-Pac-12 third-team selection, maintains a 4.0 in political science. She ranks second in program history for career shutouts with 20. Hisey was named Pac-12 Goaltender of the Week three times during the season and ranked among the top five in the Pac-12 in 2022 for saves and shutouts.

Hocking’s degree in Physiology and Medical Sciences sees her with a GPA of 3.83. She ranks second in program history in career games played in 84 games. Hocking scored one of three goals for the Wildcats against Oregon State. She is a three-time winner of the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll.

Academic winners from all districts qualify for the CCS Academic All-American ballot. The winners of the first, second and third All-America Academic Teams will be announced in early December.
