The 2022 iaedp™ Virtual Symposium will feature dozens of presentations, workshops and world-shops by some of the most renowned eating disorder treatment professionals in the field. Keynote speakers include:

Gayle Brooks, PhD, CEDS-S is vice president and clinical director of the Renfrew Center. For more than 30 years, Dr. Brooks has treated patients from diverse backgrounds who suffer from eating disorders.

Melanie Smith, PhD, LMHC, CEDS-S, is the Training Director for the Renfrew Center. As Director of the Clinical Education Department, Dr. Smith is responsible for developing and implementing clinical education and curriculum consistent with emerging research and evidence-based practice.

Ralph Carson, Dt.P., CED-RD, PhD is a clinical nutritionist and exercise physiologist with nearly 40 years of experience. Dr. Carson currently serves as the Senior Clinical and Research Advisor for the Eating Recovery Center/Pathlight.

Timothy BrewertonMD, is an Affiliate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at MUSC in Charleston, where he also has private practice. Dr. Brewer is also Director of Research for Mount Nido & Affiliates. He has board certifications in General/Child-Adolescent/Forensic Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine and is a Distinguished Fellow of the

American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and a founding member of the Academy of Eating Disorders.

Thomas CarpenterPhD, attended Princeton then obtained his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Joiner is the Robert O. Lawton Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Florida State University. Dr. Joiner’s work focuses on the psychology, neurobiology, and treatment of suicidal behavior and related conditions. He was awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship, was made a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and received the 2020 James McKeen Cattell Award for Lifetime Contributions to Applied Psychological Research from the Association for Psychological Science.
